If you’re looking to uncover who is behind a VoIP number, check out the methods below.
1. Truecaller
Truecaller is one of the best reverse phone lookup services. It’s free, accurate, and easy to use. Simply head to Truecaller, sign in with your Google or Microsoft account and input the VoIP number.
If the person you’re looking for has ever registered Truecaller using that VoIP phone number, their name will pop up in the search results.
2. Epieos
Epieos does an awesome job in reverse phone number and email lookups. The results are free and updated. You can search for VoIP numbers and see if they’re linked to any social media accounts.
For example, when I looked up a VoIP number using this tool, it showed that the number is linked to an Instagram account. Though it doesn’t provide the direct link to that specific account, it gives you a starting point to dig deeper and potentially locate the person’s profile.
3. True People Search
True People Search offers a free reverse phone lookup that allows you to look up a phone number and get basic information about the owner, including their name, age, address, and email address.
After entering the number, you’ll be able to view a list of potential owners of that phone number. Click “View Details” to open a detailed report on the person.
Note that while there are many paid reverse phone lookup services like Social Catfish that claim to provide details on VoIP phone numbers, in our experience, these tools are generally not very reliable when it comes to VoIP number lookups. So we’d recommend that you stick with free tools.
4. Contact the VoIP Provider
If you have a legitimate reason for your search, you can reach out to the VoIP provider and see if they can share information about the owner.
To see who is the service provider, you can use Phone Validator to look up that phone number. For example, here is a result I obtained from looking up a VoIP number with this tool; it indicates the number belongs to TextMe, so I can reach out to the TextMe support team and make the request.
Remember, identifying the owner of a VoIP number can be incredibly challenging, if not impossible. Anyone can use a fake name to register a VoIP service and employ a VPN to hide their actual IP address. If all these methods fail, it’s time to give up. And if you’re dealing with harassment or scams, it’s best to report it to the authorities rather than attempting to investigate on your own.
