Facebook is a popular social networking site with millions of users worldwide. It helps us connect and stay in touch with friends and family.
If you’re new to Facebook, you might wonder how to search for people on the platform. In this article, we’ll explore the most effective ways to find people on Facebook.
1. Search on Facebook Directly
If you know some basic information about the person, such as their full name, the city they live in, the school they attended, or the company they work for, you might be able to find the person using the Facebook search feature.
To perform the search, you’ll need to log in to your Facebook account.
Once logged in, you’ll see a search bar at the top of the page. Type the name of the person you’re looking for in the search bar. You can also include keywords related to the person’s interests, location, or workplace to make the results more relevant.
After entering your search query, you’ll see a list of results. You can filter your search results by selecting options from the left-hand menu. In this case, click on the “People” tab, and then enter the person’s location, education, or workplace if you have this information.
If you have mutual friends with the person you’re searching for, you can also try finding them by clicking on the People tab in the left-hand menu, selecting “Friends” and then “Friends of friends“. This will show you a list of people who are friends with both you and the person you’re searching for.
Facebook will provide suggestions based on your search query. Click on one of these suggestions to check the profile and determine if it belongs to the person you’re looking for. Once you’ve found the person, you can send them a friend request by clicking on their profile and then clicking the “Add Friend” button.
2. Reverse Image Lookup
Another method is to perform a reverse image search using the person’s photo to see if you can trace their presence on the internet.
It could be their profile photo on another social network or any other picture of them. If they’ve posted that image, or something similar, elsewhere on the internet, you might be able to find their other accounts.
Websites like PimEyes and FaceCheck are great facial recognition search engines for searching social media accounts. You can run 10 free searches with both tools, but if you want to view the complete links in the search results, you’d need to pay a fee. For free tools, try Google Images or TinEye.
3. Use a People Search Tool
Another way to locate someone’s socical media accounts is with a people search engine like TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, and Social Catfish.
These services are designed specifically to search for people-related information, including names, phone numbers, addresses, emails, social media profiles, pictures, relatives, arrest records, and more. Unlike searching with a common search engine, you get all the information all in one report, in just one search.
For example, below is a report I generate with TruthFinder premium account. It shows the subject’s Facebook link and links to their other social media accounts.
You can use these tools in various ways beyond just looking up someone’s Facebook profile. For example, you can use them to run a background check on someone you know or on yourself; you can use them to find out who is behind a social media account by running a reverse username search, and you can use them to search for contact details of a lost friend.
