How to Rent from Grover

Renting tech with Grover is a straightforward process. Just follow the instructions below:

1. Go to Grover, and find the gadget you’d like to rent.

2. Choose your minimum rental period and click Add to Chart.

3. Click Continue to checkout and follow the instructions to proceed.

After you submit your order, the Grover system will check your data for accuracy and make sure you’re a real person. It will also carry out an automatic credit check before it can provide you with the device. Generally, the process only takes a few minutes, one business day maximum.

Grover Credit Check

When you place a rental order online or in-store, Grover will run a soft credit check on you via CRIF Bürgel and Schufa, and for all international markets Experian (which has a minimal impact on the individual’s credit score). For this, it is important that you provide your name, date of birth, and billing address correctly (must correspond to your registration address).

If either the identity or credit checks are negative, Grover will not provide you with a device. For privacy purposes, the exact reason for rejection is not specified.

What If You Decide to Keep the Tech

Let’s get one thing straight here – if you’re thinking of buying tech gadgets, Grover probably isn’t the best option for you. For one thing, you’re not getting a new model unless you’re the first person to rent it. And for another, renting is more expensive than buying in the long term. For example, renting an iPhone 13 Pro Max for 2 years would cost you $1317.6, compared with the $1099 upfront cost on the Apple website.

But if you decide to buy and keep the tech, there’re two ways you can purchase the product from Grover. The first one is to rent your device until you can buy it for one symbolic dollar or euro. How long you’ll need to wait depends on the product and your chosen minimum rental period, which will also be displayed on your checkout page.

The second way is to purchase your device during your rental period by paying for all the remaining rental months at once. You can do this by clicking the “Keep it forever” button on your account page, and following the steps to purchase the product immediately.

What if You Damaged the Device

When you rent tech from Grover, you don’t need to worry about normal signs of use and small scratches you caused because they don’t count as damage.

If you did accidentally cause any damage to the device, say display breakage, technical defects, or water damage, Grover will cover 90% of the repair costs, except for drones, Grover covers 50% of the costs for repairs or replacement.

In cases where the product can’t be repaired, Grover covers 90% of the product’s retail price at the time of order placement.

Wrapping Up

We all know that the up-front cost of buying a new gadget can be a lot, and that’s why renting tech at a lower cost is a good idea when you only need the device for a short period of time. So why buy the tech when you can rent it from Grover at a lower cost?
